THE GREENSMAN’S FOUR-STEP PROCESS
STEP 1
CONSULTATION
During our initial conversation, we will ask questions about your landscaping wants, needs and goals. We will then ask you to fill out a landscape design questionnaire. A one-hour meeting will be scheduled with one of our landscape designers at your home to determine your project budget, scope and other details. This meeting will also review the design questionnaire and determine if your project requires a formal design. If no design is required, we will provide a written estimate proposal based on the previously determined budget and design elements. The estimate proposal will specify all material selections and list all included work.
STEP 2
DESIGN
If design work is required, a design scope agreement and fee will be presented based on the landscape and hardscape elements to be included in your project. This will also take into consideration the estimated budget range established for each element or phase. To initiate the design process, a 50% design deposit will be required. The balance of the design fee will be due upon the presentation of final drawings after design review meeting. This design fee is due even if revisions are needed after design review meeting has been completed. Upon receipt of a design deposit, we will perform the following services:
Site Analysis: Visually inspect the property to verify that existing site conditions are accurately shown on the property plats or plans provided by the client. Existing structures, spot grades, utilities, general soil conditions, and overall site conditions will be noted to determine the most appropriate use of landscaping plants, hardscape products and construction materials. If it is determined that current site conditions do not match that of the provided plans or if no plat exists, but is necessary, further data collection will be required before proceeding, and additional fees might apply.
Preparation of Conceptual Plans: Conceptual landscape plans will be prepared using base map drawings and will reflect client preferences as well as concepts of new design. Preliminary plans will be drawn to scale and will include general information regarding types of material, variety and size.
Preparation of Final Plans: After a design review meeting, final landscape plans will be prepared from preliminary plans, ideas and client feedback. Final plans will include scale working drawings with indicated location, and specifications of materials proposed.
STEP 3
PROPOSAL
Once the design work is completed and paid, The Greensman will provide a written estimate(s) proposal describing all included work and specified materials for your review and approval. This will include any softscape, hardscape or subcontractor work being performed.
STEP 4
INSTALLATION
Once approval of estimate(s) proposal is submitted with full 50% deposit, our production team will schedule your project, obtain any necessary permits and order materials. Before any work begins, The Greensman will hold a pre-construction meeting onsite, as needed, with all production managers to be involved with your project in order to assure a smooth order of events during the construction phases.
At completion of your project a final walkthrough will be conducted with you, the project manager and the landscape designer. At this meeting you will be presented with a closing package to include a copy of your plan and contract, all care guidelines, warranty information, product information, as well as any project-specific information that may prove important. Final project invoice will be mailed/emailed to you if any remaining balance is due on your account.
